Men’s Tennis Falls to No. 37 Harvard, 4-0

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Brown men's tennis team was defeated by No. 37 Harvard, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Murr Center. The Bears pushed four of their singles matches to three sets, but the Crimson captured victories in the fourth, second and sixth positon for the win.
"After being down 3-0 our guys showed tremendous push-back, and with his back against the wall at number 1, Peter Litsky saved six match points to come back from 2-5 down to win the second set," said head coach Tim Gray. "Our guys and fans tried to grab the momentum and successfully pushed them until the end. The competitive fire I saw today from our team definitely excites me going into next weekend."
Harvard opened the match by winning both third and second doubles with scores of 6-4.
In singles' action, the Crimson took fourth singles, 6-1, 6-3, and second singles, 6-2, 6-2, to build their lead to 3-0. Junior Peter Litsky (St. Petersburg, Fla.) battled back in his match in first singles after falling 2-6 in the first set, and took the second set 7-5, but Harvard would win in sixth singles in three sets to clinch the match.
The Bears will next close out the regular season hosting No. 50 Princeton on Saturday, April 20 and Penn on Sunday, April 21. Both matches will start at 1:00 p.m.
