Men’s Golf Places 11th at the Bash at the Beach

Myrtle Beach, SC – the Brown men's golf team opened its Spring season by placing 11thwith a 54 hole 911 on rounds of 309-298-304 at the Bash at the Beach tournament at the par 71, 6,741-yard Surf Golf and Beach Club.
Jacksonville State (850) claimed the team championship by one shot over Wake Forest (851), followed by George Washington (859), Incarnate Word (866), St. Bonaventure (871), Loyola-Chicago (883), LaSalle (884), St. Joseph's (887), Stetson (893), Appalachian State (901), Brown (911), North Dakota (917) and Providence College (939).
"I'm happy with our performance since our team hasn't been on grass since October," said head coach Mike Hughes. A 71 by Sasha (Lobel) and a 72 by Chuck (Isgar) were solid rounds. It's certainly nice to be in the warmth of South Carolina."
Bears' senior Sasha Lobel, a first team All-Ivy selection a year ago, paced the Bears and placed 37thindividually on rounds of 79-71-74—224. Junior Chuck Isgar came in at 226 on rounds of 76-72-78—226, while freshman Cole Kammerer shot 81-75-74—230.
Senior Kenneth Li carded a 54-hole 232 on rounds of 72-81-78, and freshman Andy Zhou shot 84-90-86—250.
The Bears are back in action again at the BCD Invitational, March 29-30, at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
