Throughout the month of February, Brown Athletics will celebrate Black History Month through the "28 Days of Black at Brown" series. Each day during the month, the Bears will recognize African Americans who have made an impact on the university community and beyond.

Hill Harper '88, Award-Winning Actor and Author
Hill Harper '88 is an American actor and author known for his roles on CSI:NY, Limitless, and The Good Doctor. After graduating magna cum laude from Brown in 1988, Harper graduated with a J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1992 and also received his Master of Public Administration degree from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. As a professional actor, Harper played coroner-turned-crime scene investigator Sheldon Hawkes on the CBS crime drama CSI:NY for nine seasons. Since 2017, he has portrayed Dr. Marcus Andrews on the ABC series The Good Doctor. Harper is the author of several books including Letters to a Young Brother: MANifest Your Destiny (2006), Letters to a Young Sister: DeFINE Your Destiny (2008), The Conversation: How (Black) Men and Women Can Build Loving, Trusting Relationships (2010), The Wealth Cure: Putting Money in Its Place (2011), The Wiley Boys (2011), and Letters to an Incarcerated Brother: Encouragement, Hope, and Healing for Inmates and Their Loved Ones (2013).
