Skiing Concludes Competition at ECSC Regionals

CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – The Brown ski team finished seventh overall at the USCSA/ECSC Regionals at Sugarloaf Mountain on Saturday, Feb. 23 through Sunday, Feb. 24.
The Bears opened the regional with a great first run during the giant slalom but crashes during the second run led to a 12th-place team finish.
Junior Becka Padgett (San Francisco, Calif.) was the Bears' top finisher in 19th with a combined time of 1:58.28 while senior Frances Kronenberg (New York, N.Y.) also completed both runs (2:11.36).
Brown rebounded in the slalom the following day (Sunday) with a second place team finish. Freshman Avery Vilandrie (Peacham, Vt.) led the squad in sixth with a time of 1:31.86 while Padgett also made the top-10 with an eighth place showing (1:32.89). Kronenberg (1:37.53) and freshman Maggie Beardsley (Sandy Hook, Conn.) (1:46.95) added finishes for the Bears.
Padgett concluded the weekend in ninth place for the individual combined.
