PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown men's tennis team defeated Fordham, 6-1, on Saturday at the Pizzitola Sports Center. The Bears won the doubles point and cruised through singles play, winning five of their six matches.

"With alumni and parents looking on, our guys really enjoyed the atmosphere and it showed from the beginning of the doubles all the way through the sixth singles match," said head coach Tim Gray. "We now turn our focus to preparing to play our best tennis at the Pacific Mountain Invitational next weekend out in Stockton, Calif."

Freshman Roger Chou (Austin, Texas) and senior Charles Tan (Austin, Texas) opened the afternoon with a 6-1 win in first doubles while junior Peter Litsky (St. Petersburg, Fla.) and sophomore Ben Collier (Darien, Conn.) clinched the point with a 6-4 showing in the third spot.

Tan led off singles action with two 6-4 wins in third singles. Freshman Robert Siniakowicz (West Windsor, N.J.) (6-4, 6-2, fourth) and sophomore Ching Lam (Sai Kung, Hong Kong) (6-3, 6-2, first) both followed before Fordham got on the board by taking the second singles match. Brown closed with victories by Collier (6-3, 6-4) and junior Jacob Walker (Bethesda, Md.) (6-4, 6-2) in sixth and fifth singles, respectively.

The Bears next competed at the Pacific Mountain Invitational in Stockton, Calif. on Saturday, March 2 through Sunday, March 3.
