
Mosenthal, Viruet Earn Brown Student-Athlete of the Week Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Women's lacrosse sophomore attack Risa Mosenthal and wrestling senior 165-pounder Jon Viruet have earned Brown University Athletics Student-Athlete of the Week honors for the week of Feb. 11-17, Brown announced on Monday.
Risa Mosenthal, Women's Lacrosse, Sophomore, Campton, N.H.
Sophomore attack Risa Mosenthal scored a career-high eight goals – matching the program's single-game record – to lead Brown to a 16-9 win over Quinnipiac in its season opener on Saturday. A native of Campton, N.H., Mosenthal netted five goals in the first half, while tallying four draw controls and two ground balls in the game. She netted her eight goals on 13 shots and went 3-for-3 on free-position shots. Mosenthal tied the Bears' single-game goals record, which Anne Marie Van Hengel '84 set in 1983.
Jon Viruet, Wrestling, Senior, Springfield, Mass.
Senior 165-pounder Jon Viruet went 2-0 on Senior Day, while posting his team-best fifth pin of the year. A native of Springfield, Mass., Viruet helped the Bears go 2-0 on the weekend earning victories over Columbia (19-18) and Hofstra (24-12). Against the Lions, he earned a 6-1 decision, and against the Pride, he notched his fourth fall of the dual season in 1:54. For the season, he improved to 26-5 overall, 11-1 in duals, and 9-0 in EIWA duals.
