
Skiing Collects Multiple Post Season Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown ski team collected multiple MacConnell Divisions honors following the conclusion of the regular season last weekend. Freshmen Maggie Beardsley (Sandy Hook, Conn.) and Alexa Dannis (Hillsdale, N.Y.) were named to the All-MacConnell Division Team while head coach Alex Norden and her staff received Coaching Staff of the Year accolades. Senior Selin Ozulkulu (Monroe, Conn./Istanbul) was also nominated to the MacConnell Division All-Sportsmanship Team for the second year in a row.
Beardsley finished the year leading the Bears with 334 points on the season and ranked fifth in the MacConnell Division. The rookie finished in the top-10 in six of the 10 races she competed in and had two runner-up finishes. Dannis finished 10th overall in the division while winning the slalom at Crotched Mountain.
Norden also received MacConnell Division Coach of the Year honors in 2017, her first season with the program.
Brown will next compete at the USCSA/ECSC Regionals at Sugarloaf Mountain in Carrabassett Valley, Maine Saturday, Feb. 23 through Sunday, Feb. 24.
