#12 Women’s Squash Toppled By #5 Yale, 8-1

Providence, R.I. – Senior Isabel Young captured a 3-2 decision at number four, but the #18 Brown women's squash team was unable to overcome the #5 ranked Yale squash, falling to the Bulldogs by an 8-1 margin at the Pizzitola Sports Center's Kate Brodsky Squash Pavilion.

"Our squad played so hard against a top ranked team," said head coach Stuart leGassick.  "There were numerous games won and some super squash. And Isabel Young's tight win at #4 was an outstanding effort."

Young won the first two games, but dropped the next two setting up the decisive fourth game.  She came away with an 11-9 decision in game five for the 3-2 victory.

Sophomore Isabella Kearns at number six, and junior Catherine Kimmel at number eight, each captured a game before falling, 3-1.

The Bears will resume play in the second semester, hosting Columbia on January 11.
