Butler, Daly Earn All-Region Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Junior Hannah Butler (Dewitt, N.Y.) of the Brown women's cross country team and senior Cameron Daly (Meredith, N.H.) of the men's squad were both named to the All-Northeast Region Team, announced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The duo earned the distinction after placing among the top 25 finishers at the NCAA Northeast regional championship races in Buffalo.

Butler placed third overall out of 268 total runners to punch her ticket to the NCAA Championship this Saturday as an individual qualifier. She finished the 6-kilometer road course in a time of 19:33.4. Butler, a Second Team All-Ivy selection, is the first Brown cross country runner to qualify for nationals since Natalie Schudrowitz in 2015.

Daly capped his impressive cross country career with a 19th-place finish in Buffalo to earn All-Region honors for the second time in as many seasons. He completed the 10-kilometer road course at 29:19.5.

Butler will compete at the NCAA Championship on Saturday (11/23) at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana. The women's race is set to start at 11:15 AM EST.
