
Volleyball Bests Dartmouth, 3-1, to Complete First Ivy Weekend Sweep Since 2014

HANOVER, N.H. – Senior Makena Ehlert, sophomore Kristin Sellers, and freshman Sophia Miller all posted double-doubles as Brown University volleyball defeated Dartmouth College, 3-1 (25-20, 25-10, 22-25, 25-20), on Saturday evening at Leede Arena.

Completing their first Ivy League weekend sweep since the 2014 season, the Bears (12-8, 4-6 Ivy) topped the Big Green (7-13, 2-8 Ivy) one night after beating Harvard – giving Brown its first weekend sweep of Harvard and Dartmouth since 2013 and first road sweep of the Crimson and Big Green since the conference went to 14 league games in 2001.

"Winning on back-to-back nights on the road in this league is a difficult task so I'm really proud of our team for accomplishing that this weekend," Brown head coach Ahen Kim said. "We had a lot of different players contribute tonight in a true team win."

Ehlert (Orange County, Calif.) tallied a match-high 15 kills and 12 digs to go with three aces for her second double-double of the weekend and eighth double-double of the season. She has posted double-figure kills in 18 of 20 matches this year.

Miller (Dallas, Texas) notched a double-double for the second straight night behind 13 kills and 18 digs. She has registered double-figure kills in eight of her last nine matches and totaled six double-doubles on the year.

Freshman Audra Curtin (Naples, Fla.) contributed a career-high 10 blocks alongside seven kills on .667 hitting while junior Eliza Grover (Menlo Park, Calif.) added eight kills, five digs, and five blocks.

Sellers (Menlo Park, Calif.) distributed a match-best 20 assists to go with 10 digs for her second double-double of the weekend and seventh double-double of the season. Junior Bailie Salk (Tiburon, Calif.) tacked on 19 assists and seven digs, and freshman libero Kaitlyn Wong (Los Altos, Calif.) came up with 14 digs for her 12th double-figure dig performance in her last 14 matches.

The Bears swept the season series from the Big Green as Brown edged Dartmouth, 3-1, on Oct. 4.

Brown gained leads of 8-3, 10-4, 15-8, and 18-10 on its way to a 25-20 win in set one. Dartmouth came within 22-19 before the Bears took three of the frame's last four points.

The Bears extended their set advantage to 2-0 with a 25-10 victory in the second stanza. Leading 8-4, Brown used a 10-1 run to pull ahead 18-5. Ehlert landed five kills on .500 hitting in the frame.

Dartmouth remained alive in the match with a 25-22 win in set three. Facing a 20-15 deficit, Brown scored four straight points to cut the margin to 20-19 before the hosts held on for the set win. Miller terminated on five kills in the period.

Brown closed the match with a 25-20 win in set four. With the score knotted at 19-19, the Bears posted four unanswered points to move ahead 23-19, concluding the frame with a 6-1 run. Ehlert added five more kills in the frame.

For Dartmouth, Nicole Liddle and Carly Tower each tallied 10 kills, and Bella Hedley made a match-best 21 digs.

Next, Brown plays at Columbia on Nov. 8 at 7:00 p.m. (ESPN+) and at Cornell on Nov. 9 at 5:00 p.m. (ESPN+).
