No. 18 Men’s Water Polo’s Kaplan Gains NWPC Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – No. 18 Brown University men's water polo freshman attacker Gabe Kaplan has gained Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Rookie of the Week honors, the Collegiate Water Polo Association announced on Tuesday.
A native of Santa Monica, Calif., Kaplan totaled seven goals, six assists, and seven steals last week as Brown went 3-0. He tallied two goals and three assists in a 16-2 win over Connecticut College, posted three goals and four steals in a 16-4 win at Austin College, and finished with two goals, two assists, and three steals in a 16-6 victory over Austin.
The Bears made an historic trip to the state of Texas this past weekend, competing in the first NCAA men's varsity water polo game played in the Lone Star State in 40 years.
Next, Brown opens NWPC play with road match-ups against St. Francis Brooklyn (Sept. 29, 10:00 a.m.), No. 13 Princeton (Sept. 29, 5:00 p.m.), and Iona (Sept. 30, 1:30 p.m.).
