
Women’s Basketball Unveils 2018-19 Schedule

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University women's basketball will host 14 home games, including the Brown University Turkey Tip-Off, compete in the Ocean State Tip-Off Tournament, and aim to return to the Ivy League Tournament as part of its 2018-19 schedule, head coach Sarah Behn announced on Thursday.

Highlights from the Bears' 2018-19 schedule include a trip to the state of Illinois from Dec. 30-31, a road game against Big Ten opponent Rutgers University on Jan. 4, and the third annual Ocean State Tip-Off Tournament from Dec. 1-2 at the University of Rhode Island.
The Bears close the regular season with 14 straight Ivy League games with their sights set on earning a spot in the Ivy League Tournament via a top-four finish in the conference standings.
Brown opens the year at home at the Pizzitola Sports Center with a match-up against Central Connecticut State on Nov. 6. The Bears then travel to play at Bryant (Nov. 8) and at Boston University (Nov. 12). The team concludes its pre-Thanksgiving slate at home against New Hampshire (Nov. 15) and on the road at Holy Cross (Nov. 18).
After a break for Thanksgiving, the program will host the Brown University Turkey Tip-Off from Nov. 23-25. As part of the invitational, the Bears will take on Fairfield (Nov. 23), Massachusetts (Nov. 24), and Bucknell (Nov. 25). The team will also host Johnson & Wales on Nov. 27 to close the event.
This year's Ocean State Tip-Off Tournament will take place at URI in Kingston, R.I., from Dec. 1-2. The Bears will meet Bryant in the semifinals on Dec. 1 and face either Providence College or the host Rams on Dec. 2.
Closing out the non-conference slate, Brown will play at Maine (Dec. 8) and host Howard (Dec. 22) before traveling to the state of Illinois to face both Chicago State (Dec. 30) and Northern Illinois (Dec. 31). The Bears' non-conference finale comes at Rutgers on Jan. 4.
Opening Ivy League play, the Bears will welcome Yale to Williams Court on Jan. 18 for the team's sixth annual Education Day. As part of the event, local elementary and middle school students will hear professionals speak about their fields prior to attending the game.
Bruno completes the home-and-home with Yale with a road game on Jan. 26 prior to hosting Dartmouth (Feb. 1) and Harvard (Feb. 2) for its first back-to-back conference weekend. Brown will celebrate Think Pink and National Girls & Women in Sports Day as part of its tilt with the Crimson.
The Bears then hit the road for games at Penn (Feb. 8) and at Princeton (Feb. 9) before returning home to face Cornell (Feb. 15) and Columbia (Feb. 16). Over the next two weekends of their Ancient Eight schedule, the Bears play at Harvard (Feb. 22), at Dartmouth (Feb. 23), at Columbia (Mar. 1), and at Cornell (Mar. 2).
For its final home weekend of the regular season, Brown will take on Princeton (Mar. 8) and Penn (Mar. 9) with the Bears celebrating Senior Night against the Quakers.
The 2019 Ivy League Tournament will take place at Yale's Lee Amphitheater in New Haven, Conn., from Mar. 16-17 with the top four teams in the conference standings qualifying for the tournament.
