
Men's Crew Falls at Yale in Race for Albert Cup

DERBY, Conn. – In the annual meeting between Brown men's crew and Yale, the Bulldogs claimed the varsity eight races to retain the Albert Cup, as the two programs faced off in five races Saturday morning on the Housatonic River.
Facing a decreasing tailwind over the course of the morning, defending national champion Yale opened the racing with the pair of wins in the third varsity and second varsity events, before the Bears crossed in times of 5:45.10 and 5:47.58.
In the third race of the day, the varsity event in the battle for the Albert Cup, the Bulldogs held off Brown to retain the cup in the time of 5:34.87. The Bears crossed the finish line in a time of 5:41.67.
Yale ended the day with a pair of wins in the fourth and fifth varsity races, winning in times of 5:57.37 and 6:04.55.
Brown will hit the water next Saturday when the Bears host Ivy League rival Harvard in the annual battle for the Stein Cup.
