
Women's Water Polo's Dakan, Cook Gain CWPA Weekly Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University women's water polo senior Marisol Dakan and freshman Kaitlyn Cook have earned CWPA Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors respectively for the period of Jan. 29 to Feb. 4, the Collegiate Water Polo Association announced on Friday.
A native of Pasadena, Calif., Dakan totaled 44 saves and a .506 save percentage over five games last week. She made 13 saves and allowed just five goals vs. No. 13 San Diego State. She posted nine saves against both Cal Baptist and Villanova.
Cook, a native of Los Gatos, Calif., totaled five goals, five assists, seven ejections drawn, and two steals last week. She posted two goals, an assist, and an ejection drawn vs. McKendree, tallied a goal, two assists, and two ejections drawn vs. No. 24 Marist, and recorded a goal, an assist, and two ejections drawn vs. Villanova.
Next, Brown plays in the Marist Invitational on Sunday, Feb. 25 with games against Marist (9:30 a.m.), Iona (1:00 p.m.), and Siena (4:00 p.m.).
