
Men’s Water Polo’s Bouscaren, Hallal Garner NWPC Weekly Honors

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – Brown University men's water polo senior center defender Travis Bouscaren and sophomore goalkeeper Riad Hallal have garnered weekly honors from the Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC), the Collegiate Water Polo Association announced on Tuesday.
Bouscaren (Cambridge, Mass.) earned NWPC Player of the Week honors while Hallal (Coronado, Calif.) gained NWPC Defensive Player of the Week accolades after the Bears finished a 3-0 weekend, including wins over No. 7 Harvard and No. 12 Princeton.
Bouscaren totaled six goals, three assists, and three steals last week. He netted three goals in the Bears' 11-10 win over No. 12 Princeton, posted two goals, an assist, and two field blocks in an 11-9 win over No. 7 Harvard, and scored the game-winning goal in overtime in an 11-10 victory at MIT, while adding two assists against the Engineers.
Gaining NWPC Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this year, Hallal registered 21 saves on a .525 save percentage last week. He made 12 saves alongside a steal in the Bears' 11-9 win over No. 7 Harvard and stopped nine shots in the team's 11-10 victory over No. 12 Princeton. Last year, Hallal won NWPC Rookie of the Week five times and NWPC Defensive Player of the Week twice.
Next, the duo and the Bears play in four games at the Harvard Invitational with match-ups on ESPN+ against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Oct. 13, 12:00 p.m.), Toronto (Oct. 13, 5:00 p.m., exhibition), No. 18 Wagner (Oct. 14, 8:00 a.m.), and No. 20 Bucknell (Oct. 14, 2:00 p.m.).
