
Women’s Hockey Hosts No. 9/10 Colgate (Fri.) and No. 6 Cornell (Sat.)

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's hockey team returns home to Meehan Auditorium on Friday, Nov. 2 and Saturday, Nov. 3 to host their first ECAC series, welcoming No. 9/10 Colgate and No. 6 Cornell. Friday's game against the Raiders will start at 6:00 p.m. while Saturday's matchup versus the Big Red will begin at 3:00 p.m. Both contests will be broadcast on ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
Colgate enters the week with a 5-3-0 record and a 2-0-0 mark in the ECAC while ranked No. 9 in the USCHO.com Poll and 10th in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll. The Raider swept last weekend's series against Dartmouth and Harvard with a 6-0 win over the Big Green and a 1-0 victory versus the Crimson. The duo of Shae Labbe and Coralie Larose lead Colgate in points with eight, with four goals and four assists apiece. Jessie Eldridge paces the team in goals with five along with two assists while Bailey Larson has a team-high five assists with two goals. Julia Vandyk has seen the bulk of the action in goal with six games played. She has a 2.54 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage with a 3-3-0 record. Liz Auby has played in two contests, both wins, and has a 1.00 GAA and .963 save percentage. Colgate ranks second in the ECAC in total goals (25) and assists (37).
SCOUTING THE BIG RED
Cornell ranks sixth in both national polls with a 3-0-0 record on the season and a 2-0-0 showing in ECAC play. The Big Red opened the season with a 4-1 win against Syracuse on Oct. 23 and swept Harvard (3-2) and Dartmouth (4-0) last weekend. Kristen O'Neill leads the squad in goals (3) and points (5) while having two assists. Madlynne Mills has a team-high four assists for the Big Red. Marlene Boissonnault has seen all of the action in net and has a 1.00 GAA and a .958 save percentage with one shutout. Boissonnault was named ECAC Goalie of the Week on Monday, Oct. 29 after leading the team to a 3-0-0 week. She recorded a league-high 69 saves in that span which included a 23-save shutout in Saturday's win over Dartmouth. Cornell leads the ECAC in goals-against average (1.00) and ranks second in both goals per game (3.67) and penalty kill (92.3).
BROWN TALKING POINTS
Freshman Lizzy Gross leads the Bears in scoring with seven points on four goals and three assists. Thee rookie netted a hat trick in her second-career game at Holy Cross on Oct. 20, a 4-0 win. Gross has two three-point games on the season, adding a goal and two assists in a 5-3 victory against UConn on Oct. 23. Shay Maloney is second in team scoring with five points, leading the Bears in assists with four. Junior Calla Isaac has played in four games this season and has a 2.45 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage. The netminder recorded her first career shutout on Oct. 20 at Holy Cross with 32 saves. She posted a season-high 40 saves in just two periods of action at Princeton on Oct. 27. Freshman Hayley Kliczko has appeared in two games for the Bears and registered 40 saves in Brown's win versus UConn.
LAST TIME OUT
After a thrilling 5-3 come-from-behind win against UConn last Tuesday, the Bears suffered their first losses of 2018-19 over the weekend after opening the season 3-0-0. Brown was defeated by Quinnipiac, 4-0, on Friday, Oct. 26 and fell at Princeton, 7-2, the following day. Freshman Shay Maloney scored her first-career goal against the Tigers on Saturday, a power-play score, while senior Bridget Carey later added her third goal of the season. Junior Calla Isaac came up with 40 saves in net against Princeton in two periods of relief.
ROOKIES MAKE AN IMPACT
Three freshmen recorded points in Brown's season opening series against Holy Cross. Lizzy Gross netted a hat trick in Saturday's game on her way to earning ECAC Rookie of the Week honors. Classmate Shay Maloney also finished the weekend with multiple points, recording four assists, three coming in Saturday's 4-0 victory. Jacquie Tam got things started for the newcomers in the season opener and had the game winner on Friday in the Bears' 3-1 win. Gross again filled the stat sheet on Tuesday night with one goal and two assists while Tina Paolillo scored her first collegiate goal which was the game-tying score in the third period versus UConn.
Gross and Maloney are the top two scorers for the Bears so far this season, with Gross holding the goal (4) and point (7) lead while Maloney has a team-best four assists.

The Bears will go back on the road and play at Rensselaer on Friday, Nov. 9 at 6:00 p.m. and at Union on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 3:00 p.m. in ECAC games. Both contests will be streamed live on ESPN+.
