
No. 16 Men’s Water Polo’s Salle Earns NWPC Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – No. 16 Brown University men's water polo freshman center defender Stephen Salle has gained Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Rookie of the Week honors, the Collegiate Water Polo Association announced on Wednesday.
A native of Chadds Ford, Pa., Salle tallied six goals as Brown went 3-1 last weekend at the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament. He netted four goals in the Bears' 13-12 win over No. 18 Loyola Marymount. He added one goal apiece in games against No. 15 Cal Baptist and No. 19 San Jose State.
Brown closed out its trip to the Golden State with a 3-1 record behind victories over No. 19 San Jose State (11-3), No. 18 Loyola Marymount (13-12), and Fresno Pacific (12-7) and a narrow setback to No. 15 Cal Baptist (11-10).
Next, Brown returns to Northeast Water Polo Conference play with home match-ups on Sunday, Oct. 28 against Iona (10:00 a.m.) and St. Francis Brooklyn (2:00 p.m.) at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center.
