Men’s Tennis Competes at ITA East Regional

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Brown men's tennis team concluded play at the ITA East Regional on Saturday at the Cordish Family Pavilion and Lenz Tennis Center. Sophomore Ching Lam (Sai Kung, Hong Kong) and junior Peter Litsky (St. Petersburg, Fla.) highlighted the Bears' performances, reaching the Round of 16 in doubles.
Four Bears posted singles victories in the opening day (Friday), with senior Charles Tan (Austin, Texas) (6-3, 6-2), Lam (6-2, 6-4) and freshman Robert Siniakowicz (West Windsor, N.J.) (6-4, 4-6, 6-0) winning their matches, while freshman Roger Chou (Austin, Texas) advanced with a bye.
In doubles play, Lam and Litsky teamed up for a 8-3 win in their opening match on Friday.
On Saturday, Lam (6-3, 4-6, 6-0), Siniakowicz (7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (4)) and Chou (6-3, 5-7, 6-3) all pushed their matches to three sets but were defeated. Tan put up a fight in his match but fell 6-2, 7-6 (8). Litsky picked up a win for Brown in his consolation match, a 6-2, 6-3 showing.
Lam and Litsky advanced in their first doubles match on Saturday with an 8-7 thriller against Bryant. The duo was defeated in their Round of 16 match against Penn in another back-and-forth match, 8-7.
The Bears next travel to Hanover, N.H. for the Dartmouth Invitational Friday, Oct. 19 through Sunday, Oct. 21.
