Track & Field's Paul Claims Pentathlon at URI Multi-Event Qualifier

KINGSTON, R.I. – Senior Carly Paul (Fort Collins, Colo.) of the Brown women's track & field team won four events as she captured first place in the pentathlon at the URI Multi-Event Qualifier Thursday at Mackal Field House.
Paul totaled 3,816 points to top the field of eight participants, besting the runner-up by 781 points. She won four of five events in the pentathlon, including the 60M hurdles (9.05), high jump (5-7.25), long jump (18-7.25) and 800 meters (2:26.38).
Paul won the URI Pentathlon earlier this season with a personal best 3,883 points, the second-best score all-time at Brown, and now owns the top two performances in the Ivy League this season.
Brown is back in action on Saturday for the Sorlien Memorial Invitational.
