LAST TIME OUT
Brown split a pair of road games last weekend, opening the trip with a 2-1 victory at No. 20 Tulsa before falling at SMU, 1-0 to snap a four-game winning streak. Nico Lozada and Toby Howell both scored in the win over Tulsa to give the Bears their fourth straight win to open the season and the program's best start since 2007. Keeper Joey Cipicchio made five saves, all in the first half, to earn the victory.
SCOUTING URI
Rhode Island (3-2-1) played No. 16 New Hampshire to a scoreless draw last weekend to remain unbeaten over the last three games. Stavros Zarokostas and Chae Brangman pace the club with three goals apiece, while Peder Kristiansen has three assists. Nils Leifhelm has played all six games in goal and enters the weekend with a 0.93 goals-against average and a .812 save percentage. Brown topped URI in overtime last season, 2-1, in Kingston.
COMMON OPPONENTS
Brown and Rhode Island have played just one common opponent so far this season, as both teams blanked Bryant. URI defeated the Bulldogs at home, 4-0, and Brown won on the road, 1-0.
NATIONAL RANKINGS
Brown is ranked No. 25 in the latest TopDrawerSoccer weekly poll, earning a spot in the ranking for the first time this season. The Bears are also receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches poll.
Individually, senior keeper Joey Cipicchio is ranked 14th in the nation in save percentage (0.850).
LOZADA NAMED IVY PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Senior Nico Lozada was named the Ivy League Player of the Week on Monday. He recorded three points (1g, 1a) in the team's win over No. 20 Tulsa. Lozada, who picks up his first weekly award honor, is Brown's second straight Player of the Week selection, following junior forward Toby Howell (Sept. 11).
