
Reilly Nets Three, No. 14 Men's Water Polo Defeats Connecticut College, 12-6

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Freshman Aidan Reilly scored a game-high three goals as No. 14 Brown University men's water polo defeated Connecticut College, 12-6, on Wednesday night at Lott Natatorium.
In their first game since Sept. 10, the Bears (7-4) gained leads of 6-3 at halftime and 9-4 after three quarters en route to the victory over the host Camels (0-4).
In support of Reilly (Los Angeles, Calif.), senior Doug Barber (New Haven, Conn.) and sophomore Hudson Rawlings (Murrieta, Calif.) each netted two goals.
Senior Austin Hwang (Laguna Hills, Calif.), sophomores Christian Cooper (Chicago, Ill.) and Galen Hu (Colleyville, Texas), and freshmen Adam Fuller (Santa Barbara, Calif.) and Daniel Hu (Colleyville, Texas) registered one goal apiece.
Sophomore Armen Deirmenjian (Beverly Hills, Calif.) totaled a team-high four steals with two assists while Reilly and sophomore James Thygesen (Menlo Park, Calif.) each dished out two assists.
In net, freshman goalie Charlie Pang (Greenwich, Conn.) made 16 saves.
The Bears staked themselves to a 2-1 lead after the first quarter behind goals from Reilly and Galen Hu. The Camels responded, knotting the game at 3-3 in the second quarter despite a goal from Rawlings.
Brown closed the half with three straight goals to pull ahead 6-3 at the break. Daniel Hu started the run with a power play goal before Rawlings scored on a counter and Hwang netted the half's final tally.
The visitors continued a 5-0 run with the first two goals of the third quarter. Barber netted a power play marker prior to a backhanded goal from Cooper. After a Camel tally, Fuller charted his first collegiate goal to put Brown up 9-4 heading to the fourth quarter.
Following a Conn. College goal, the Bears netted three consecutive tallies behind two strikes from Reilly and a marker from Barber, making the score 12-5. The Camels netted the contest's last goal with four seconds to play.
Next, Brown opens up Northeast Water Polo Conference play with road games at No. 16 St. Francis Brooklyn (Sept. 30, 11:00 a.m.), Iona (Sept. 30, 5:00 p.m.), and No. 12 Princeton (Oct. 1, 2:30 p.m.).
