Brown Finishes 11th Nationally At Kurtz Cup With 7-2 Win Over George Washington

Brown completed play in the Kurtz Cup at the Women's Squash Collegiate Team Championship, defeating George Washington, 7-2, to finish 11th nationally. The Bears opened with a 6-3 win over Bates in the opening round and a 5-4 loss to Drexel in round two.

In Sunday's final match against George Washington, senior Hannah Hay-Smith, playing number three, posted a 3-1 win to spark the Bears in capturing matches three through nine. Senior Isabel Scherl won, 3-1, at number four, while freshman Isabel Young came away with a 3-1 victory at number five.

Freshman Scarlett Bergam was another 3-1 winner at six, and sophomore Katrina Northrop took a 3-0 decision at seven. Sophomore Purvi Goel was also a 3-1 winner at number eight, while sophomore Hannah Safford captured a 3-2 come-from-behind decision at number nine.
