
Peabody Leads Women's Track & Field at BU Valentine Invite

BOSTON – Junior Clare Peabody (Aptos, Calif.) set a school record in the 1,000 meters as the Brown women's track & field team continued the indoor season at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday.
Peabody placed fourth overall out of 65 runners in the 1,000 meters, crossing in a time of 2:46.48, breaking her own record of 2:47.21 set last season.
Senior Taylor Worthy (Medfield, Mass.) was 19th overall in the mile as she finished in a time of 4:46.94 for second all-time in program history.
Brown posted a pair of impressive performances in the 200 meters, as junior Audrey Holt (Alpharetta, Ga.) and rookie Zion Lewis (Canton, Ga.) were ninth and tenth, respectively, at 24.83 for seventh and eighth all-time in program history.
Freshman May Stern (Providence, R.I.) posted a top-ten program finish in the 400 meters as she placed sixth overall at 55.22 for fifth all-time at Brown.
Rookie Karlly Feng (Temple City, Calif.) was 11th in the pole vault with a cleared height of 11-05.75, tied for seventh all-time at Brown.
The men's side will compete on day two of the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday.
