PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior Nico Lozada (Dallas, Texas) scored the game-winning goal in overtime to send the Brown men's soccer team past Penn, 2-1, in Saturday's Ivy League match at Stevenson-Pincince Field.

Brown improves to 8-4-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the Ivies, while Penn drops to 3-11-1, 1-3-1.

Quinn English (Milwaukee, Wis.) scored the other goal for the Bears and also added an assist on Lozada's goal. Joey Cipicchio (Columbus, Ohio) made two saves in the win for the Bears. Scott Forbes had four stops for the Quakers.

English put the Bears on the board with just nine seconds left in the first half. The senior fielded a pass from Rodrigo D'Andrea (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and beat Forbes with a shot from the right side on the ground. James Myall (St. Charles, Ill.) also earned an assist on the play.

Penn evened the score in the 70th minute, when Sam Wancowicz released a shot from the right side that sailed into the left side of the goal, eventually sending the game into extra time. The two teams had four shots apiece in the second half.

Lozada scored the game winner with 34 seconds left in the first overtime. English moved down the left side and sent a cross across the field, where Lozada headed home a shot past Forbes to secure the victory. Daniel Schiller (Glenview, Ill.) also had an assist on the play.

Brown outshot Penn, 10-9.

The Bears will visit Hofstra in midweek action on Tuesday night at 7 PM.
