
Ratcliffe Leads Women's Cross Country at Ivy Championship

NEW YORK – Senior Megan Ratcliffe (Carlisle, Mass.) finished third overall as the Brown women's cross county team placed sixth at the 2017 Ivy League Heptagonal Championships Friday at Van Cortlandt Park in New York City.
Columbia captured the team championship with 66 points, followed by Dartmouth (73), Yale (89), Princeton (98), Cornell (106), Brown (132), Penn (139) and Harvard (214). Princeton's Gabrielle Forrest won the individual title in a time of 21:02.3.
Ratcliffe was third overall out of 90 runners as she completed the 6-kilometer course in a time of 21:10.4, moving up 22 spots from the 3-kilometer split to earn First Team All-Ivy accolades.
Juniors Carleen Jeffers (Ridgewood, N.J.) and Lucy Srour (Potomac, Md.) both finished inside the top-30, finishing 24 and 29, respectively, in times of 21:53.7 and 22:03.2.
Emma Sloan (Franklin, Tenn.) was 36th overall in a time of 22:16.6, before junior Allison Bellows (Coventry, R.I.) took 40th at 22:21.1 to round out the Brown scorers. Clare Peabody (Aptos, Calif.) and Katherine Treanor (Chevy Chase, Md.) crossed the finish line in times of 22:26.1 and 22:27.7, respectively.
The Bears return to the course on Friday, November 10 for the NCAA Northeast Regional in Buffalo, N.Y.
