
Men's Swimming & Diving's Sovijja Pou to Compete in Olympics for Cambodia

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown men's swimming & diving rising senior Sovijja Pou (Beaverton, Ore.) will represent Cambodia at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games in the 100 meter freestyle on Tuesday, August 9th.
Pou qualified for the Olympics last summer when he competed in the 2015 FINA World Championships in Kazan, Russia, securing one of Cambodia's spots with his performance.
At Brown in 2015-16, Pou competed in all six meets on the season, recording personal bests in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 100 butterfly and the 200 butterfly.
Pou currently holds the Cambodian record in the 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle, 100 butterfly and 200 butterfly.
The 100 freestyle heats are set to begin at noon on Tuesday, August 9th and will be streamed live here.
