
Men's Swimming & Diving Boast Individual and Team CSCAA Scholar All-American Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown men's swimming & diving seniors Christopher Meyers (Milwaukee, Wis.) and Alexander Treil (Neeham, Mass.) and junior Daniel Klotz (Berlin, Conn.) and sophomore Grant Casey (North Attleboro, Mass.) earned CSCAA Honorable Mention All-American accolades as announced by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America on Wednesday. Honorable Mention selections achieved a GPA of 3.50 or higher and achieved a "B" time standard or competed at a NCAA Zone Diving qualifying event.
In addition, the men's swimming and diving program earned Scholar All-America honors after posting 3.46 cumulative grade point average during the spring semester, tying the team for fourth-best among qualified schools. To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, programs must have achieved a grade point average of 3.00 or higher over the spring semester.
Meyers, a Political Science concentrator, broke two program records at the Ivy League Championships, in the 100 breaststroke and the 200 breaststroke. Meyers also set a school record as a member of the 200 medley relay team at the Championships.
Treil, a Computer Science concentrator, finished ninth in the 200 butterfly and competed in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle at the Ivy League Championships.
Klotz, a Health and Human Biology concentrator, finished eighth in the 100 butterfly and 16th in the 50 freestyle at the Ivy League Championships. He was also a member of the 200 medley relay team that finished fifth and broke a program record at the Championships.
Casey, an Engineering concentrator, competed in the 1650 freestyle, finishing 12th at the Ivy League Championships. He also raced in the 1000 freestyle and 500 freestyle at the Championships.
