
Beckerman, Wrestling Welcome Six Newcomers for 2016-17 Season

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University wrestling will welcome six freshmen to the team for the 2016-17 season, Brown head coach Todd Beckerman announced on Tuesday.
"We are really excited with our incoming freshman class and know they will have an impact on the Brown Wrestling program and University," Beckerman said. "When recruiting, we look for individuals with high academic standards, a strong work ethic, and those that have a passion for our sport and competition. This class embodies all those attributes, and they will be an integral part as we continue to move our program forward."
The group includes wrestlers from across the middle and lower weights with a combined high school record of 936-148 (86.3 winning percentage). The contingent contains three performers from the state of Illinois, two from Pennsylvania, and one from New York with a total of 19 state medals.
Brown's Class of 2020 comprises 125-pounder Trey Keeley (Washington, Ill.), 141-pounder Zach Krause (Plainfield, Ill.), 149-pounder Matt Lattanze (Norristown, Pa.), 133-pounder Nick Lattanze (Norristown, Pa.), 133-pounder Jimmy Pawelski (Park Ridge, Ill.), and 125-pounder Theo Powers (Mexico, N.Y.).
Trey Keeley
Weight Class: 125 lbs.
Hometown: Washington, Ill.
High School: Washington Community
Prep Accolades: Earned All-State honors twice … Finished as state runner-up in 2015 … Earned two state medals and two regional titles … Gained USAW All-America accolades three times … Posted a 70-20 career record … Finished as 2014 Cadet Greco Roman National Champion … Wrestled for head coach Bryan Medlin … National Honor Society student.

Zach Krause

Matt Lattanze

Jimmy Pawelski
