SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Brown University equestrian junior captain Kabisa Baughen, senior Noel Park, and junior Samantha Spear each competed at the Zone 1 Finals at Mount Holyoke College on Saturday after advancing from the Zone 1 Region 1 Regionals.
Each rider finished in the top two of her class at regionals to advance to zones. To qualify for regionals, riders needed to total enough points to "point out" of their respective divisions during the regular season.
At zones, Baughen (Sarasota, Fla.) finished in 10th place in her class in open fences, Spear (Chester Springs, Pa.) came in seventh in her class in intermediate fences, and Park (Baton Rouge, La.) placed eighth in her class in walk-trot.
In its final team competition of 2015-16, Brown will compete at the Ivy Show at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H., on Saturday, Apr. 23.
The top two riders in each class at zones advanced to the IHSA National Championships.
