
No. 6 Harvard Tops No. 5 Men's Crew For Stein Cup

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – No. 5 Brown men's crew earned a pair of wins in the third varsity and fifth varsity four races, but No. 6 Harvard topped the Bears in the varsity eight to retain the Stein Cup Saturday morning on the Seekonk River.
The annual meeting between the two schools featured an incoming tide with light tailwind, but then changed to a light headwind during final races, including the varsity eight. Harvard edged the Bears in a tight finish in the varsity race as the Crimson crossed at 5:35.8, winning by 0.6 over Brown at 5:36.4.
Brown captured a narrow victory over Harvard in the third varsity, winning 5:47.3 before the Crimson crossed at 5:48.2. The Bears also capped the day with an open water victory in the fifth varsity four at 6:56.5. Harvard finished in a time of 7:04.6.
Harvard captured the second varsity race by three seconds, crossing at 5:41.1 before Brown at 5:44.7. The Crimson opened the morning with a victory in the fourth varsity in a time of 6:04.6.
Brown will visit Northeastern next Saturday in the annual battle for the Dreissigacker Cup.
