
Women's Lacrosse Opens Two-Game Homestand On Saturday Versus Dartmouth

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's lacrosse team will square off against Dartmouth in an Ivy League battle on Saturday, April 23 at Stevenson-Pincince Field. The game will start at 1:00 p.m. and will be broadcasted on the Ivy League Digital Network and ESPN3.

ALL-TIME VERSUS DARTMOUTH
The Bears are 11-29 all-time against the Big Green with Dartmouth winning last year's contest 10-6 at Scull-Fahey Field. Sophomore Emma Dahle recorded career-highs in goals (3) and points (4) in the game.
SCOUTING THE BIG GREEN
Dartmouth enters the match-up with a 6-7 overall record and a 2-3 mark in conference action. The Big Green recently dropped a 9-7 contest to Albany on Monday, April 18, but won the weekend Ivy League tilt on Saturday, April 16 versus Yale (10-5). Jaclyn Leto leads the team in points with 51 and goals at 47. Leto is also the Ivy League leader in goals, averaging 3.63 per game. Taryn Deck ranks second on the team in overall scoring with 28 points, on 19 goals and a team-best nine assists. Charlotte Wahle has seen all of the action in net, putting together a 10.85 goals against average and a .379 save percentage.
LAST TIME OUT: BEARS DEFEATED BY COLUMBIA, 13-9
Brown was defeated by Columbia, 13-9, to close out its 2016 road stretch at Robert K. Kraft Field on Saturday, April 16. Freshman Hafsa Moinuddin led the Bears' scorers with four points, on two goals and two assists.
The Lions (6-7, 1-4 Ivy League) rattled off four-straight goals to open the first half before Brown (5-8, 0-5 Ivy League) got on the board with junior Jillian Lee's free position shot at 16:14. Lee again scored at 14:32 to pull the Bears within two (4-2). Moinuddin tallied the assist on Lee's latter tally, increasing her point streak to nine games. Columbia came back to score at 13:06 before Moinuddin registered a goal of her own at 12:25. Laine Parsons next scored for the Lions at 8:12 before sophomore Rose Mangiarotti closed out the scoring in the half, with Moinuddin picking up the helper, bringing the halftime score to 6-4 in favor of Columbia.
The Lions opened up the second half similar to the first, and scored three goals to take a 9-4 lead. Moinuddin got the Bears back on the board at 17:27. Columbia followed with two-straight goals to hold an 11-5 advantage. Seniors Lauren Toy and Richael Walsh next scored back-to-back goals at 14:26 and 11:51 (free position), respectively, bringing the score to 11-7. Lindsey Ewertsen scored for Columbia at 7:47 to give the team a 12-7 lead before Walsh recorded her second goal of the game on a free position shot at 5:14. Toy followed with a man-up score at 1:34 but Brown was unable to generate any further goals to come back before the conclusion of the game. Ewetsen scored for the Lions at 1:26 to seal the contest, 13-9.
Senior Victoria Holland registered 13 saves in the match-up while her counterpart, Kelsey Gedin, stopped three shots. The Bears were successful in free position shots, going 3-for-4 in the game, while Columbia went 1-for-5.
POINT STREAK
Freshman Hafsa Moinuddin enters Saturday's game with a nine-game point streak. Moinuddin scored her first collegiate points in an 11-10 win at Bryant on March 9, recording two goals and two assists, and had her first hat trick at Sacred Heart on April 2. Last Saturday, Moinuddin tied a career-high in points (4) with two goals and two assists at Columbia. She has had five multi-point games in the streak. The rookie currently ranks second on the team in points with 19 (11G, 8A).

The Bears close out the regular season at Stevenson-Pincince on Saturday, April 30 against No. 10 Princeton at 1:00 p.m. The game will be Brown's Senior Day where seniors Rebecca Dahle, Victoria Holland, Sarah Nesi, Lauren Toy, Dianne Vitkus and Richael Walsh will be honored prior to the start of the game. Saturday's contest will also be streamed live on the ILDN and ESPN3.
