
Men's Crew Edged at Defending National Champion Washington

SEATTLE – In the annual matchup between two nationally prominent programs, No. 6 Brown men's crew fell to five-time defending national champion Washington as the Bears dropped all three races Saturday morning on the Montlake Cut.
In the varsity eight race, the final race of the day, the Huskies crossed the finish line in a time of 5:39.290 to just beat the Bears at 5:40.648.
Washington picked up another victory in the junior varsity with a winning time of 5:54.613, while Brown crossed at 6:00.619. Washington also won in the third varsity race at 5:53.737. The UW freshmen eight crossed at 5:55.102 before the Brown third varsity crossed in a time of 5:57.412.
The Bears return to action next weekend when they host Harvard in the annual race for the Stein Cup on the Seekonk River.
