ALL-TIME VERSUS UMASS LOWELL
The Bears are 1-0 all-time versus UMass Lowell, having defeated the River Hawks 13-6 in their inaugural season in 2015 at Stevenson-Pincince Field. Sophomore Lindsey Repp recorded a hat trick in the contest.
SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKS
In its second year as a program, UMass Lowell enters Tuesday's tilt with a 1-12 overall record, with its lone win coming on its home soil, a 12-8 victory over Siena on March 2. Taylor Sokol leads the team in points (19), with 13 goals and six assists, sharing the team-lead in assists. Kristina Keith has registered a squad-best 14 goals to go along with one assist for 15 points. Courtney Barrett has started in net in all of the River Hawks' 13 games, putting together a 13.72 goals against average and a .438 save percentage.
LAST TIME OUT: BEARS FALL AT HARVARD, 8-2
For the second-straight game Brown women's lacrosse outshot its opponent, but it was Harvard that was able to pick up an 8-2 win in an Ivy League contest at Harvard Stadium on Saturday.
In a low scoring first half, Harvard (7-3, 3-1 Ivy League) headed into the break with a 2-0 lead, scoring early in the period and then at the closing. The Bears (4-7, 0-4 Ivy League) recorded a 12-10 advantage in shots in the opening period and posted three draw control wins while Harvard had zero.
Both teams traded possessions in the second half until Harvard scored first at 15:21 and then again at 11:40 for a 4-0 lead. Junior Jillian Lee got Brown on the board at 5:43 with her 11th goal of the year, bringing the score to 4-1. Harvard responded soon after to establish its lead once again (5-1) at 5:03. Freshman Hafsa Moinuddin scored her ninth goal of the season at 4:45 following a Brown draw control. With the goal, Moinuddin extends her point-streak to seven-straight games. The Crimson then scored three-straight en route to the final score of 8-2.
Senior Victoria Holland concluded the game with five saves while Kelly Weis of Harvard had seven stops. Brown outshot the Crimson 19-18. The Bears were 0-for-4 in free position shots while Harvard did not take a free position shot. Both teams were successful at a high rate clearing the ball; Brown going 10-for-11 while Harvard was 17-for-18.
POINT STREAK
Freshman Hafsa Moinuddin enters Tuesday's game with a seven-game point streak, which includes five straight games with at least one goal. Moinuddin scored her first collegiate points in an 11-10 win at Bryant on March 9, recording two goals and two assists, and had her first hat trick at Sacred Heart on April 2. She has also had four multi-point games in the streak. The rookie currently ranks second on the team in points with 14 (9G, 5A).
BEARS WIN DRAW CONTROL BATTLE AT HARVARD
Brown finished its game against Harvard with nine draw control wins compared to the Crimson's three. The Bears won all three draw controls in the first half and tacked on six in the second half. Freshman Alex O'Donnell led all players and recorded four draw controls for Brown.
