
Four Cross Country Runners Named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

NEW ORLEANS – Will Sheeran (Bellevue, Wash.) of the Brown men's cross country team, and Carleen Jeffers (Ridgewood, N.J.), Natalie Schudrowitz (Milwaukee, Wis.) and Taylor Worthy (Medfield, Mass.) of the women's side, were recently named Division I Cross Country All-Academic selections by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
In addition, the Brown men's and women's cross country teams were both honored as 2015 All-Academic Teams by the USTFCCCA. The men's team was one of 171 programs honored and logged a 3.28 GPA, while the women's team held a 3.53 GPA and was one of 205 Division I teams recognized for the team award.
Individual honorees must have compiled a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and have finished in the top 15 finishers (or 10 percent) at regionals or as an All-American at the national meet.
Schudrowitz placed 23rd overall to earn All-American honors at the NCAA Championship as she completed the 6-kilometer course in a time of 20:16.7. She placed fourth at the Northeast Regional in a time of 20:39.2 to earn a bid to the NCAA Championship as an individual qualifier. Schudrowitz also earned All-Region and All-Ivy accolades.
Worthy was named to the All-Northeast Region Team with a top-20 finish, as she took 19th in a time of 21:14.9. Jeffers posted a top-20 finish at the Ivy League Championship as she finished 17th and was the top freshman in the field at 21:57.4. She also placed 26th overall at the NCAA Regional Championship and most recently represented the United States at the Great Edinburgh Cross Country International Challenge in Scotland.
Sheeran earned All-Region honors after he led the men's team with a 24th-place finish. He finished the 10-kilometer course in a time of 31:19.
