
Jeffers Competes at Great Edinburgh XC International Challenge

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Rookie Carleen Jeffers (Ridgewood, N.J.) of the Brown women's cross country and track & field teams represented the United States at the Great Edinburgh Cross Country International Challenge over the weekend in Scotland.
Jeffers placed 16th overall in the junior women's race as she completed the 4-kilometer course in a time of 15:07. Jeffers was one of six runners selected by Team USA to compete in the junior women's event, along with Katie Rainsberger (5), Devin Clark (8), Judy Pendergast (11), Maryjeanne Gilbert (14) and Amy Davis (24).
Bobby Clay of Great Britain claimed first place in the 85-runner field in a time of 14:09.
Jeffers posted a top-20 finish at the Ivy League Championship as she finished 17th and was the top freshman in the field at 21:57.4. She also placed 26th overall at the NCAA Regional Championship.
