BOSTON – The Brown University men's and women's cross country teams both posted top-10 finishes as the Bears competed at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown on Friday at Franklin Park.
The men placed eighth out of 21 teams with 288 points, while the women's side finished ninth out of 24 teams with 226 total points.
"We left a lot undone today with both squads," said Tim Springfield, Director of Track & Field/Cross Country. "I was disappointed that we were still too tentative at key points. Natalie ran a fine race--I was very pleased to see her running up front."

Rookie Eli Moskowitz (Amherst, N.H.) took 59th at 25:04.3, before Stephen Bourguet (Manhasset, N.Y.) and freshman Franco Martins (Orlando, Fla.) crossed at 25:20.3 and 25:37.3, respectively.
On the women's side, sophomore Natalie Schudrowitz (Milwaukee, Wis.) finished 10th overall as she crossed the 5-kilometer course in a time of 17:15.9. Freshman Carleen Jeffers (Ridgewood, N.J.) and junior Taylor Worthy (Medfield, Mass.) placed 40th and 42nd, respectively, at 17:49.7 and 17:50.1. Junior Lucy Van Kleunen (Philadelphia, Pa.) finished 48th at 17:53.7, while Victoria O'Neil (Boise, Idaho) crossed at 18:16.8 to round out the scorers.
