Women's Crew Opens Racing at Henley Women's Regatta 2015

HENLEY-ON-THAMES, England – Brown University women's crew advanced a pair of senior coxed fours to the knockout rounds with top-16 finishes in a time trial on the first day of the Henley Women's Regatta 2015 on Friday on The River Thames.
The regatta held a time trial for the event to pare the field down from 17 boats to 16 boats for the first round on Saturday. Each boat navigated the course in numerical order with 30 seconds separating each crew's start. Once all 17 boats completed the course, officials announced an alphabetical list of the top 16 boats with no times given.
Brown will begin competition in earnest on Saturday as the crew's two elite eight entries and two senior coxed four boats will compete in the knockout stages. The Bears' eights will take part in quarterfinal races at 1:20 and 1:28 p.m. local time while the fours will have the chance to compete in first round and quarterfinal match-ups.
