Women's Crew Begins UK Trip at Henley Women's Regatta 2015

HENLEY-ON-THAMES, England – After finishing first at the 2015 Ivy Championship and third at the NCAA Championships in the spring, Brown University women's crew will head across the pond this summer to compete in a pair of events in the UK beginning with the Henley Women's Regatta from June 19-21.
The Bears stand as the only program in the history of the event to send their entire squad to the regatta with 38 student-athletes set to compete. Brown will field six boats over four events with the crew's lineups varying due to regatta rules. Two boats will take on new experiences, competing without a coxswain, in the elite coxless fours and the elite quadruple sculls events.

BRUNO AT HENLEY
Brown women's crew has made four previous trips to Henley-on-Thames in 1998, 2003, 2007, and 2011. The Bears have competed at the Henley Women's Regatta on four previous occasions (1998, 2003, 2007, and 2011) and at the Henley Royal Regatta three times (2003, 2007, and 2011). Brown won the open eight event at HWR in 1998, 2003, and 2007 and captured the club eight in 1998 and 2003.
ABOUT THE HENLEY WOMEN'S REGATTA
The Henley Women's Regatta is the premier rowing regatta for women in the UK. Over one thousand women aim to compete and win at the regatta annually. Crews travel from all around the world to race over the famous Henley Regatta course from as far afield as New Zealand and the United States and as nearby as Ireland, making Henley Women's Regatta an international event.
