Schlafer Competes at NCAA Zone Diving Championships

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Brown sophomore diver Jonathon Schlafer (Uniontown, Ohio) competed in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events at the 2015 NCAA Zone Diving Championships held at the University of Buffalo on Monday and Tuesday.
Schlafer finished the 1-meter event in 46th-place, amassing 218.00 points over a span of six dives. Schlafer performed forward, back, and inverse somersault pikes, reverse and inward somersault tucks, and back and forward somersault twists.
In the 3-meter event, the sophomore posted a score of 234.50, good for 41st overall. Schlafer's best dive of the afternoon came in the fourth round, as his inward 2 ½ somersault tuck earned 56.70 points and 10th place finish in the round.
The top-five finishers in the 1-meter and top-seven finishers in the 3-meter event advance to the NCAA Championships held at the University of Iowa from March 26-28.
