HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Brown women's lacrosse team got four goals each from Janie Gion (Northfield, Ill.) and Lauren Toy (Kentfield, Calif.) en route to an 11-5 triumph over Colgate on Tuesday at Beyer-Small '76 Field.

The Bears snap a two-game losing skid with the win to improve to 5-3 overall, while the Raiders drop to 5-4 with the loss. Senior netminder Kellie Roddy (Poway, Calif.) made seven saves to improve to 5-3. Jennie Berglin made eight stops for Colgate on Tuesday.

After falling behind 2-0 just 10 minutes in, the Bears responded with the game's next eight goals to seize control of the contest. The Raiders kept possession down the Brown end of the field in the early going and scored the opening two goals off the sticks of Megan Ark and Isabel Kreitler.

Toy got the Bears on the board with 18:38 to play in the half, prior to a pair of strikes from Gion that erased the Raiders' two-goal cushion in a span of 5:11.

Sarah Nesi (Westport, Conn.) and Abby Bunting (Wellesley, Mass.) followed with goals before Gion completed her hat trick with 2:27 left in the half to give the Bears a 6-2 lead. Nesi and Bunting also chipped in with solo assists for the Bears on Tuesday.

Toy and Gion denied any comeback hopes for the host Raiders with the opening markers of the second half to give Brown a roomy 8-2 advantage. Bunting added her second goal of the day before Toy added her team-leading 16^th goal of the season with just 1:45 to play. The four-goal performance was a single-game high for the junior, who also leads the Bears with 21 points.

Ark and Kreitler combined to score four of the five Raiders goals on Tuesday. Alyssa DiBona (Media, Pa.) continued her dominance in draws with five on Tuesday, running her Ivy League-leading total up 32 draw controls. Bunting paced the Bears with six shots and amassed 14 attempts at the cage during the Bears' two-game road swing through New York.
