NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Abby Bunting (Wellesley, Mass.) recorded a career high three assists and four players each tallied a pair of goals as the Brown women's lacrosse team scored a 13-5 win over Central Connecticut State on Sunday at Arute Field.

After the teams battled through the opening eight minutes scoreless, Alexandra Hooker gave the host Blue Devils a 1-0 lead. Gion sparked a four-goal Brown outburst over the next seven minutes, as the senior's tallies bookended goals by Toy and Emma Dahle to give the Bears a 4-1 lead. Toy's second goal of the game was her team-leading eighth of the season.
The Bears and Blue Devils exchanged goals to conclude the first half, including Repp's first collegiate goal to give Brown a 5-2 lead at the half.
CCSU's Marissa Soto cut the Brown lead to two just 1:45 into the second half, but the Bears seized control of the contest with five straight goals in a span of five minutes to take a 10-3 lead.
Kerianne Hunt (Alamo, Calif.) netted her first of the season off a feed from Bunting before strikes from Repp, Richael Walsh (Westwood, Mass.), Dahle, and Toy staked the Bears to a seven-goal cushion with 21:18 to play.
Goals by Hooker and Falynn McCartney drew the Blue Devils back within five, but the Bears left no doubt and closed out the game with three straight goals. Yuna Hur (Stony Brook, N.Y.) scored with six minutes to play, before Riley Christopher (Bethesda, Md.) and Dianne Vitkus (Skaneateles, N.Y.) added goals in the final moments. Vitkus' marker came with just one second to play, while Christopher potted her first career goal with 3:07 left.
