QUEENSBURY, N.Y. – The Brown skiing team captured its fourth consecutive USCSA Eastern Regional title this past weekend at West Mountain and will now advance to the USCSA National Championships to be held at Mt. Bachelor in Bend, Oregon from March 3-7.
Recently named MacConnell Division Skier of the Year, Natalie Pearl (Steamboat Springs, Colo.) won both slalom and giant slalom events this weekend. Pearl led the way on Saturday with a mark of 1:45.84 in the slalom, while teammates Ali Gunesch (1:51.61) and Amanda Engelhardt (1:51.98) finished sixth and seventh, respectively.
In Sunday's giant slalom event, Pearl once again led the pack with a strong race, checking in with a time of 1:40.22. Katherine Liebowitz (1:41.75) and Gunesch (1:41.87) each joined Pearl at the podium on Sunday.
