
#68 Men's Tennis Upsets #51 Penn at ECAC Quarterfinals, 4-3

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 68 Brown men's tennis team remained undefeated in dual match play after a 4-3 win over No. 51 Penn on Saturday in quarterfinal action of the ECAC Indoor Championships held at Harvard's Murr Center.
The duos of Ivan Kravtchenko/Gregory Garcia and freshmen Peter Tarwid/Aaron Sandberg secured the all-important double point for the Bears to open the match.
Garcia and Brandon Yeoh each posted singles wins, setting the table for the deciding match between Tarwid and Penn's Josh Pompan in the No. 5 slot. After Tarwid claimed a hard-fought opening set, 7-5, Pompan evened the match with a 7-5 win of his own before Tarwid took control and grabbed the pivotal third set decisively, 6-1.
Brown now advances to the semifinal round to battle No. 50 Dartmouth on Sunday at 7 p.m.
