Cross Country Trio Named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

NEW ORLEANS – Sophomore Lucy Van Kleunen (Philadelphia, Pa.) and rookie Natalie Schudrowitz (Milwaukee, Wis.) of the Brown women's cross country team, and senior Jordan Mann (St. Louis, Mo.) of the men's team, were recently named Division I Cross Country All-Academic selections by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
In addition, the Brown men's and women's cross country teams were both honored as All-Academic Teams by the USTFCCCA. The men's team was one of 179 programs honored and maintained a 3.45 GPA, while the women's team held a 3.47 GPA and was one of 226 Division I teams recognized for the team award.
Individual honorees must have compiled a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and have finished in the top 15 finishers (or 10 percent) at regionals or as an All-American at the national meet.
Van Kleunan, who was the top finisher for the Bears at the NCAA Northeast Regional meet and was named to the All-Region Team, placed 21st overall in a time 20:57.07. She was also the top finisher for the Bears at the Ivy Championship and was named Second Team All-Ivy.
Schudrowitz put together an impressive freshman campaign as she placed 15th overall at the Ivy Championship in a time of 21:16.6. Schudrowitz also posted a top-30 finish at the regional meet, as she took 27th in a time of 21:05.88.
Mann, who earned All-Northeast Regional honors after he finished 20th overall in a time of 30:54.65, paced the Bears throughout the course of the fall season. Mann was the top finisher for the Bears at the Ivy Championship as he placed 17th overall, completing the 8-kilometer course in a time of 24:57.3.
