PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After a fourth-place finish at the Ivy League Championship over the weekend, the Brown women's cross country team is ranked fifth in the latest Northeast Region Rankings, recently announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The women's team jumped up two spots from last week's rankings and trail only Providence, Syracuse, Yale and Columbia. The men's team dropped one spot and is currently listed 10th in the Northeast.
Brown had three top-20 finishers at the Ivy Championship, paced by sophomore Natalie Schudrowitz (Milwaukee, Wis.), who finished 12th overall in a time of 21:45.2 for Second Team All-Ivy accolades. Junior Taylor Worthy (Medfield, Mass.) and rookie Carleen Jeffers (Ridgewood, N.J.) both finished inside the top 20 at 16th and 17th, respectively, in times of 21:54.5 and 21:57.4, while Jeffers was also the top freshman in the field.
Brown returns to the course in two weeks for the NCAA Northeast Regional, which will take place on Friday, Nov. 13 at Franklin Park in Boston.
