#11 Brown Toppled By #9 Stanford, Earns Win Over #15 Bates

Cambridge, Mass. – The 11^th-ranked Brown women's squash team split matches on its opening weekend, earning an 8-1 win over #15 Bates, while falling to #9 Stanford, 9-0.

While Stanford won the match, several Brown players excelled, especially senior Emily Richmond (Toronto, Ontario) at number five, who fell in five games.

In the win over Bates, Brown won matches at numbers two through nine, all in three games. Earning wins, starting at number two, were senior Skylar Murphy (Greenwich, CT), junior Isabel Scherl (Tenafly, NJ), freshman Katrina Northrop (Brooklyn, NY), Richmond, senior Isabel Pitaro (Brooklyn, NY), freshman Purvi Goel (Fremont, CA), freshman Megha Poddar (Morristown, NJ) and sophomore Katherine Pisani (Gladwyne, PA).

The Bears are back in action again on Tuesday, December 8, hosting Yale in their Ivy League opener at the Kate Brodsky Squash Pavilion.
