LAKE PLACID, N.Y.- The Brown skiing team posted its 36th consecutive MacConnell Division victory this past weekend at the Clarkson Carnival at Whiteface Mountain.
Ali Gunesch and Natalie Pearl each recorded wins in the two-day event as the Bears continued its astounding division winning streak.
In giant slalom action on Saturday, Gunesch (Sandy, Ore.) recorded her first win of the season as Brown narrowly outlasted Castleton State by just under a second, 8:24.82 to 8:25.80.
Continuing her spectacular sophomore season, Pearl (Steamboat Springs, Colo.) nabbed her fifth win of the season in Sunday's slalom event with a mark of 1:27.13 to lead Brown to a convincing cushion over Castleton State. Amanda Engelhardt (Plymouth, N.H.), Gunesch, and Lauren Stobierski boasted top-five finishes on Sunday.
Brown returns to action next Saturday and Sunday for the two-day St. Anselm Carnival held at Crotched Mountain.
