#10 Brown Women Squash Upsets #7 Stanford, 5-4, Falls To #4 Princeton and #3 Penn

The 10th-ranked Brown's women's squash team earned a 5-4 upset win over 7th-ranked Stanford Saturday afternoon in Princeton, New Jersey. The Bears also dropped 9-0 decisions to fourth ranked Princeton and third ranked Penn on Sunday.
Stanford captured matches 1-4, leaving the Bears little room for error. But great play at numbers five through gave Brown the victory.
Junior Mina Shakarshy started with a 3-1 win at number five, followed by a 3-1 win by senior Meredith Schmidt-Fellner at number six. Junior Katherine Elliott-Moskwa took an easy 3-0 decision at seven, while sophomore Skylar Murphy came through with a 3-1 victory at number eight. Freshman Isabel Scherl came through with an 11-7, 11-7, 11-8 victory at number nine and give Brown the narrow win over the Cardinal.
Brown returns to action again on Tuesday, February 4, hosting Yale at the Pizzitola Sports Center's Kate Brodsky Squash Pavilion at 4pm.
