Bethlehem, Pa. – Sophomore Lucy Van Kleunen (Philadelphia, Pa.) placed 25th overall to lead the Brown women's cross country team to a sixth-place finish among a competitive field at the Paul Short Run on Saturday on the campus of Lehigh University.
Brown finished with 235 points to place sixth out of 38 teams, while Guelph captured the Gold Race with 48 points.
"The team did a good job executing their strategy today and climbed really well after the mile," said Tim Springfield, Director of track & field/cross country. "It was an especially strong race for Lucy. I also thought that Lydia did a great job as our fifth runner today."
Van Kleunen placed 25th overall as she completed the 6-kilometer course in a time of 20:52. Junior Lily Harrington (West Hartford, Conn.) and senior Leah Eickhoff (Hanover, N.H.) also placed inside the top-50 as the duo finished 45th and 48th, respectively, in times of 21:07 and 21:08.
