PRINCETON, N.J. – A pair of goals each from Ryan McCarthy and Allison Evans led the Princeton Tigers to a 4-0 win over the Brown field hockey team on Saturday at Bedford Field.

Shannon McSweeney (Boxborough, Mass.) made 11 saves to become Brown's all-time saves leader with 599 stops, passing Sarah Lamont's ('91) previous record of 589 career saves. The senior tri-captain has totaled 30 saves over the past two contests. Julia Boyle recorded three saves in her first start of the season to improve to 1-0.

Evans got the Tigers on the board just 7:41 into the contest as she deposited a feed from Stephanie Goldberg into the lower left corner of the net past McSweeney. The Bears appeared to be entering the half facing just a one goal deficit, but Princeton responded with the all-important insurance marker off the stick of McCarthy at 32:45.

The Tigers wasted no time in extending their lead in the second half as McCarthy struck for her second tally of the game and fifth goal of the season just 1:17 into the second stanza. Princeton's fourth and final marker of the game came just four minutes later on Evans' shot that found the left corner that put the Bears into a four-goal hole.

Meghan O'Donnell (Winchester, Mass.), one goal shy of the school's career goal-scoring record, came close to achieving the milestone in the 65^th minute as Princeton's Annabeth Donovan recorded a desperation defensive save to keep Brown off the board.

The Tigers outshot Brown 23-7, with each team recording four penalty corners.

The Bears return to action on Wednesday night for a non-conference tilt at Holy Cross beginning at 7:05 p.m.
